(Washington, D.C.) - Flagg Youngblood, director of Vets for Freedom
Political Action Committee, addresses the endorsement of Mike
McIntyre by Deborah Johns, the former Tea Party Express leader who
was fired for cause.
"Ilario Pantano has led soldiers in combat and knows firsthand
what's required to keep America safe and prosperous," says
Youngblood. "As a leader in one of our country's veterans groups, I
believe Ilario better understands the range of issues confronting
our nation than Mike McIntyre does."
"Lieutenant Pantano courageously put his life on the line in the
sand, not once but twice, to guarantee our freedoms stateside,"
continues Youngblood. "Ilario's military career was undermined
by a disgruntled, recently demoted rifleman who retaliated with
unfounded allegations."
"The facts are simple: the Marine Corps exonerated Lieutenant
Pantano and offered him additional command responsibilities. Ilario
received an honorable discharge. End of story."
"By contrast, Deborah Johns was fired for cause by the Tea Party
Express after serving as their vice chairman. And, apparently
Combat Veterans for Congress experienced similar problems with
her? Is Ms. Johns without shame?" asks Youngblood.
"The evidence suggests Ms. Johns is nothing more than an political
opportunist looking to harm the reputation of her former
employer. After all, she's attacking one of their most
respected candidates. Déjà vu, Ilario?"
"Ilario Pantano's selfless devotion to serving others couldn't be
clearer; he'll put constituent concerns first," concludes
Youngblood. "Ilario Pantano's the choice for every voter
concerned about protecting the United States, veterans, and
restoring accountability to Washington. His battle-proven
track record makes him the best pick on November 2nd."
