(Washington DC) - Today, Vets for Freedom Political Action Committee (VFF-PAC) released its select list of ten endorsed candidates for Congressional office, all of which are Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who are viable challengers for competitive U.S. House races. This list-called 'Operation 10-in-10'-is the definitive list of young veterans who, when elected, will have the largest impact on advancing stronger U.S. national security policies.

VFF-PAC has assembled this exclusive list of veterans in order to ensure spending and support is both targeted and effective come November. Candidates included in 'Operation 10-in-10' will receive one of only ten VFF-PAC endorsements in this election cycle, along with grassroots support, media support, micro-targeted voter guides, phone calls, and robust get-out-the-vote efforts. VFF-PAC plans to expend all its ammunition in order to make sure these ten warriors make it to Washington.

"In 2006 and 2008, there were only a few Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who legitimately had a chance to win House races. This year, there are ten-and we're going to make sure they win." said Pete Hegseth, Executive Director of VFF-PAC. "This is the beginning of a movement. America's newest warrior class is running to take back Washington, and inject a much-needed dose of courage, honor, and principle into Capitol Hill. These men understands the threats we face as a nation, and what it takes to ensure our war-fighters and commanders in the field-especially in Iraq and Afghanistan-have the resources, strategy, and support they need to win."

The complete list of the 10 candidates in 'Operation 10-in-10', along with bios, can be found at www.vetsforfreedom.org/pac/Operation10-in-10/. The list includes: Allen West (FL-22), Steve Stivers (OH-15), Brian Rooney (MI-7), Jonathan Paton (AZ-8), Ilario Pantano (NC-7), Adam Kinzinger (IL-11), Joe Heck (NV-3), Tim Griffin (AR-2), Chris Gibson (NY-20), and Kevin Calvey (OK-5).

Vets for Freedom PAC (http://www.vetsforfreedompac.org) is a federal political action committee that supports candidates and policymakers from both sides of the aisle who stand behind our generation of warriors, and who put long-term national security before short-term partisan political gain. Established by combat veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan on Veterans Day 2007, VFF-PAC will endorse and support Republicans, Democrats, and Independents who support victory on the battlefield. VFF-PAC is the leading Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans organization in America.
