With a distinguished career of public service that includes his membership in the Employer Support Council for the US National Guard, and a solid record of supporting Veterans issues in the California State Assembly, Vets for Freedom applauds Dean’s commitment to continue his public service in the United States Congress.
“As a veteran who has proudly served my country in the United States Army, I am honored to speak on behalf of Vets for Freedom in offering our strong endorsement of Dean Andal for United States Congress,” said Vets for Freedom Chairman, Pete Hegseth. “Dean understands that the fight we are currently undertaking in Iraq is essential to our success in the global fight against Islamic extremism. He recognizes and acknowledges the success of our current military strategy implemented by General Petraeus, and has been a steadfast source of support of all the men and women who are fighting and winning the Global War on Terror. Our country needs more dedicated people like Dean in Washington.”
Hegseth continued, “As the brave men and women who wear our nation’s uniform continue to serve in harm’s way, it is important that we have elected officials in Washington who understand and appreciate the sacrifices they make and why they make them. The current Representative of California’s 11th District not only voted on multiple occasions to set a timetable for retreat from Iraq, but after visiting Iraq continued to deny the progress that the new strategy has made possible. He has repeatedly referred to Iraq as a civil war, choosing to ignore the reality on the ground. Clearly he does not recognize the threats that our country faces – Dean Andal is the answer to this inherent weakness in Congress, and I am proud to offer the support of Vets for Freedom.”
