Vets for Freedom is proud to announce its support of Sean Sullivan for United States Congress in the 2nd Congressional District of Connecticut. Sean’s life can be summarized in two words – public service. As a Naval Academy graduate, he went on to serve in the Navy’s “Silent Service” for over two decades, patrolling the world’s waters in submarines, including a tour in the Middle East during the first Gulf War. Sean retired in 2006, after serving as Base Commander in Groton, CT. Vets for Freedom applauds Sean’s strong commitment to continue his public service in the United States Congress.
“As a fellow veteran who has proudly served my country in the United States Army, I am humbled to speak on behalf of over 30,000 members of Vets for Freedom in offering our strong endorsement of Sean Sullivan for United States Congress,” said Vets for Freedom Chairman, Pete Hegseth. “Sean understands that the fight we are currently undertaking in Iraq is essential to our success in the global fight against Islamic extremism. He recognizes and acknowledges the success of General Petraeus’s surge strategy, and has been a steadfast source of support to all the men and women who are winning the Global War on Terror. Our country needs more dedicated people like Sean in Washington, and I look forward to working with him in Congress.”
Hegseth continued, “As the brave men and women who wear our nation’s uniform continue to serve in harm’s way, it is important that politics end at the water’s edge, and that we have elected officials in Washington who understand and appreciate the sacrifices they make and why they make them. Sean Sullivan is a true American patriot, and I am proud to offer the support of Vets for Freedom.”
