Vets for Freedom Announces Multi-Million Dollar Television Campaign; Launches "Four Months, For Victory" Targeted Grassroots Effort Aimed at Increasing Public Support for Victory in Iraq and Afghanistan
|
Today, Vets for Freedom
launched a national "Four Months, For Victory" media and grassroots
campaign. The effort, which kicked off July 4,will conclude on
Veterans Day (November 11).
The launch kicks off a series of multi-million dollar
television-advertising buys in select markets and on national cable
that will air throughout July and August. Simultaneously, and
through Veterans Day, Vets for Freedom will mobilize our
grassroots veterans membership throughout the country to spread the
facts-the "ground truth"-about progress in Iraq and Afghanistan and
the need for victory in these conflicts.
The "Four Months, For Victory"grassroots effort will take place in
all 50 states, and will focus aggressively in 12 target states that
are home to key lawmakers. The Vets for Freedom State
Captains in these states-MN, IA, WI, MI, PA, NV, NM, MO, CO, OH,
FL, VA- have staff and resources available to mobilize local
veteran volunteers. Veterans in these states will be organizing
citizens, holding events, pounding the pavement and spreading the
word-through print and broadcast-that victory in Iraq and
Afghanistan can be, and is being, achieved.
Vets for Freedom has several television ads in the queue;
all of which will be running through August and will feature Iraq
and Afghanistan veterans from all ranks and branches of service.
The first ad-"Finish the Job"-begins airing today and can be viewed
at www.VetsforFreedom.org. All the ads are aimed at informing the
American people about the facts regarding progress in Iraq and
Afghanistan.
"Vets for Freedom will not stand by and let the
incredible progress of our troops go unnoticed by the American
public and lawmakers from either side of the aisle. During the four
month countdown to Veterans Day-while Americans are paying
attention-we'll have a megaphone and we're going to use it," said
Iraq war veteran and Vets for Freedom Chairman Pete Hegseth. "It is
essential that our next Commander in Chief-regardless of
party-understands the importance of victory in Iraq and the
consequences of defeat. As veterans, we are compelled to fight for
those still overseas; and for the next four months, our battlefield
is the airwaves, newspapers, and neighborhoods…and we are hitting
the ground running."
WHERE/WHEN: July 9 @ 10:00 a.m. in the Murrow Room at The National
Press Club (529 14th St. NW, 13th Floor, Washington, DC 20045).
Veterans featured in the ads as well as the State Captains from the
12 target states will be in attendance and available for interviews
at the conclusion of the event.
